Friend

I dreamt of the intruder, literally a dark shadow like presence in the living room and there was a calling out, not sure if from me to it or it to me. Waking, there is some trepidation at having the door open at night (what will come in?) and also a deep desire to sit with the intruder by day and converse. A profound gratitude is present for this dream sighting, for how can I work with the shadow at all if I cannot see it or talk to it or even know that it is there (how can anyone)? Hallelujah for the healing mechanism that is the human psyche and for the courage and wisdom to know when to sit with the deeply uncomfortable feelings, to notice and let the feelings speak in the language of thought, memory, sensation and then to move, to give way, to incorporate, even.
